Angela East has an insatiable curiosity that leads her into
all sorts of musical genres, playing different instruments, teaching both the
cello and the Alexander technique.
Her viola da gamba and bass violin allow her to explore music from the 17th century, while her traditional background and zest for a huge range of sounds will allow her to explore the 20th century repertoire using her 1828 Ventapane cello. She has been well-known as a continuo player with many of the foremost early music orchestras and ensembles on the baroque cello for many years and has used this instrument and her five-stringed cello to record the Bach Cello Suites. She teaches very young children and loves sharing her experience with as many people as possible. |
